There’s A New Horse In The Stable

If you, like myself, love anything and everything cars, especially those of the exotic nature, prepare to find a new item of desire (or maybe contempt). Announced this morning, you can say goodbye to the likes of the Ferrari F430. The F430, the replacement of the 360, has made appearances left and right since its release in 2004. Catch this weeks Entourage? Those were Ferrari F430s being driven on the track. But that’s the past, as of this morning. Today, Ferrari announced the new 458 Italia, and it is something to drool about. Read on for more pics and sound bites.

The new 562 horsepower monster looks to outpace the F430 in regards to speed and power. It redlines at 9,000 RPMs, so expect to hear this thing coming from a long ways away. Get this, it gets 17.1 MPG. That’s more then my ‘07 VW Touareg with a V6 in it (14 MPG makes me miserable). Forget the numbers though, the car is sexy, others will disagree, but the lines are so distinctly Ferrari, I think I’m in love. There’s even a little Enzo thrown in there for good measure, and I for one can’t wait to see this car hit the streets. It will make its public debut in Frankfurt this year.

I apologize for the video’s linguistically different spec sheet, but the video is the most important part, afterword is just photos.
